Celebrity Image rights are extremely valuable and Jose Mourinho’s impending move to Manchester United shows how conflicts with existing sponsors (Chevrolet is United’s shirt sponsor and Jose endorses Jaguar) can cause some tricky and unitended consequences.
Lawyers from both sides have been locked in negotiations over a number of image rights issues, primarily Mourinho’s deal with car manufacturer Jaguar but also watch and casino sponsors.
